Goodluck: Capturing the Vegas Mirage

The Client

Goodluck is Winnipeg's newest portable photobooth, revolutionizing event experiences with a distinct focus on live music venues, breweries, and festivals, alongside private bookings. More than just a photobooth, Goodluck offers an immersive, interactive experience, providing unlimited physical prints and custom-curated props.

Their service is designed for seamless integration, requiring a minimum 6'x6' space and power access, always including professional setup and an on-site attendant for the duration of the event. Goodluck is quickly becoming the go-to for adding a unique, memorable flair to any gathering.

The Problem

Goodluck, as a burgeoning photobooth service, needed a strong visual identity that would immediately communicate its unique brand proposition. While targeting a diverse audience from event planners to individuals, their core appeal lies in captivating the raw, edgy, and down-to-earth crowd found in live music venues and breweries, while also appealing to the polished elegance of weddings.

The challenge was to create brand imagery that evoked a specific, alluring aesthetic – 60s Glam, reminiscent of a "Vegas mirage" and "90s movie casino" – with an undertone of "grit under glam," "alluring," "intoxicating," and "femme fatale."

They needed photos that could convey this distinct "sleepy glam" icon status, featuring champagne bottles and the allure of a bygone era, distinguishing them from traditional photobooths.

the approach

We undertook a comprehensive creative direction approach, meticulously translating Goodluck's ambitious aesthetic into tangible visuals that would resonate with their target audience.

Creative Direction & Aesthetic Curation: We fully embraced the vision of "60s Glam" and "Vegas mirage,"planning scenarios that depicted an ornate casino, bright, and glitzy environment. The concept of "grit under glam" was central, ensuring that while the imagery was luxurious, it maintained an inherent edge. Visual motifs included Las Vegas iconography, 90s movie casino vibes, classic champagne bottles, and a distinctive "sleepy glam" aesthetic.

Photography & Lighting: Lighting was key to achieving the desired "Vegas mirage" effect – bright, glitzy, yet capable of conveying an "alluring" and "intoxicating" mood, reminiscent of a femme fatale. We utilized techniques to create a sense of movement and energy, reflective of live music venues, while maintaining the polished look needed for wedding markets.

Prop & Set Integration: We focused on key props like poker table. The booth itself was positioned as the central icon, showcasing its sleek design within various styled backdrops (black backdrop, or a custom-designed one to fit the theme).

Target Audience Alignment: While visually appealing to a broad audience, every shot was carefully composed to subtly resonate with their core demographic – individuals who appreciate raw, edgy, and down-to-earth experiences, whether at a punk rock flea market or a refined wedding.

direction

Photoshoot Prep: Detailed planning ensured all elements – from specific props like vintage champagne bottles to lighting setups mimicking a casino – were in place. The goal was to build a 'Vegas mirage' right here in Winnipeg, capturing the essence of 60s allure with a modern edge.

On-Set Execution: We focused on capturing moments that felt both spontaneous and highly stylized, emphasizing expressions that were alluring and intoxicating, embodying the 'femme fatale' and 'sleepy glam' aesthetic.

the outcome

The brand photography for Goodluck successfully captured their unique vision: a captivating blend of "60s Glam" and "Vegas mirage" with an undeniable "grit under glam." The resulting images evoke an alluring, intoxicating, and femme fatale aesthetic, featuring iconic champagne bottles and the signature "sleepy glam" feel.

This distinct visual identity powerfully communicates Goodluck's promise of providing a unique, high-energy, and stylish photobooth experience for both raw, edgy events and elegant weddings. The new imagery positions Goodluck as not just a service, but a memorable event icon.
